History 

Established in 1732, this rolling hills, fields and wetland rural community is roughly 30 miles west of Boston and nearly equidistant between Worcester and Lowell in North Central Massachusetts. Harvard is sometimes confused with Harvard University located in Cambridge, MA. Harvard is located in Worcester county on the Middlesex county border.

The town elects five members to the Board of Selectmen to run the town day-to-day and has an annual Town meeting to pass/amend the town bylaws. Selectmen's meeting are typically held every two weeks in the town hall.

Yearly Events

Apple Blossom Festival 

Located in the town center in early May, this venue brings out the best of the local crafters and organizations which represent small town life. Come and enjoy fresh baked pies, music, fire engine rides and friendship.

4th of July Celebration

July 4th (or the weekend nearest the 4th) brings out the town parade including a large offering of antique cars/trucks as well as the normal staple of politicians, police, fire, scouts, church and other organizations with specialty floats. Kids also participate in bicycle parade.. The celebration includes simple games of pie-eating, greased pole, running road race, three-leg races and many others. Food offerings abound and afternoon water games are conducted at the town beach. Contact me for details.
